Etihad Airways hat am 24. Juli 2025 ihren ersten Airbus A321LR übernommen. Das Flugzeug wurde am Airbus Standort in Hamburg-Finkenwerder übergeben und bietet erstmals bei Etihad auch auf der Kurz- und Mittelstrecke geschlossene First Suites und Lie-Flat Business Class Sitze. Insgesamt hat Etihad 30 Airbus A321LR bestellt. Der Erstflug findet am 1. August 2025 auf der Strecke von Abu Dhabi nach Phuket statt. Weitere geplante Ziele sind unter anderem Bangkok, Düsseldorf, Mailand, Paris und Zürich. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO von Etihad Airways, erklärt:
